Second Season has Begun!

Sue Sylvester and Mr Schuester promoting Glee in an advertisement.

Glee Glee and more Glee!

The much anticipated show is one of the newest and freshest on TV. While starting its second season it is off to a great start! The first two episodes have been better than ever with great song choices and even better drama.

For me this is one of the most relatable TV shows that have come about in a long time. Who wouldn't want to watch a bunch of misfit high school students singing and dancing to hit songs? Madonna, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga inspired episodes is what makes this show a hit. Still being a teenager myself its easy to relate to kids that get critiqued for participating in more that one club or sport at a time.

Sue Sylvester is your very atypical cheerleading coach. Mr. Scheuster is your sexy spanish teacher. Finn Hudson is the studly quarterback with very little intelligence but a killer voice. Rachel Berry is your wannabe popular dork with a voice that she isn't afraid to flaunt. Noah Puckerman, or Puck as we call him,  is your average jock. Quinn Fabray is the innocent, knocked up head cheerleader. Artie Abrams is your typical nerd rolling around in a wheel chair. Tina is the shy goth. Kurt Hummel is the emotional gay kid who gets made fun of and judged whenever possible. Mercedes Jones is the fashionista with a voice like Aretha Franklin's. Santana and Brittany are the cheerleaders that have made out with every boy in school.

The first season of Glee finished on a rather upsetting note when McKinley High's Glee Club came in second at regionals. While ending the episode cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester states that Glee will be allowed to continue on with one more year to prove themselves. Sylvester, who is known for putting down Glee club's coach, Mr.Schuester, is anticipating one more year of making Glee club's teacher and students' lives hell. With first seasons song choices being off the charts, including songs such as "Don't stop believing" by Journey, Rick Springfield's very own "Jessie's Girl" (a personal favorite), and the never forgettable Lady Gage episode which included the songs "Bad Romance" and "Poker Face," Jane Lynch's rude and comical remarks as Sue Sylvester were still able to shine through.

Second season started off amazing with the first song being Jay-Z and Alicia Key's very own "Empire state of mind." While introducing that their next competition for Glee club is in New York City, they got inspired by this song and sang it on the steps of their common area at the high school. For being the first song of the season they set off on a great note with an unforgettable number. Who wouldn't want to hear Mercedes belt out the Alicia Keys part in this song?

In the second episode, Glee club's very own Brittany mimicked Britney Spears while singing and dancing to "I'm a slave for you" and "Me against the Music." The best thing about this episode wasn't even the guest appearance by Britney Spears herself, it was actually the guest appearance by John Stamos who is playing a dentist and is dating Mr. Schuester's crush. Now hot Mr. Schuester has competition with Stamos' character as they battle it out for a girl.

There will only be better things to come as Glee continues to air on Tuesdays at 7pm. And if you are not a fan, I advise you to start watching now before the rumored Susan Boyle, winner of Britian's Got Talent, makes an appearances. Who wouldn't want to see Susan Boyle singing along side Lea Michele's character Rachel? That is one duet I will be anticipating as the season continues on!!

  1. I love the pictures along with the funky background. It makes it much more appealing for the reader. Be careful of type-o's. For example: "makes an appearance(s)." Nothing that was that big of a deal. I like that I can hear your "voice" in the writing and I can tell you are a fan of the show. Keep up the good work, start posting, and you're on the road to an "A."
